What you need

Getting started

  1. Open the app and enter your server address, for example https://media.example.com or http://192.168.0.10:8096.
  2. Sign in with your Jellyfin user, or use Quick Connect and approve the code in the Jellyfin web dashboard.
  3. Pick a title, then tap the cast button to send it to a TV, or play it on the phone.

Common problems

No TVs appear

Allow local network access when iOS asks, or turn it on in Settings, Privacy and Security, Local Network. Discovery only works over Wi-Fi, not cellular, and both the phone and the TV must be on the same network. Some routers block the discovery traffic between wireless and wired clients; look for a setting named AP isolation, client isolation, or multicast filtering. Pull to refresh in the app, or use Rescan devices in Settings.

The server does not connect

Check that the address opens in Safari on the same phone. Include the port if your server uses one, and keep the scheme (http or https) exactly as your server serves it. If the server is only reachable through a VPN or a tunnel, that connection has to be up on the phone.

Playback stutters or fails on the TV

The app plays the original file when the TV can handle it, and asks the server to transcode when it cannot. Transcoding needs headroom on the server; a machine without hardware acceleration will struggle with 4K. Lowering Quality in Settings makes the server produce a lighter stream.

Subtitles

The subtitle you pick is burned into the stream by the server, so it shows on any TV, including ones that ignore subtitle tracks.

Resume does not stick

Jellyfin discards progress for very short playbacks by default, so a title watched for a couple of minutes may not show up in Continue Watching.

Sending a report

Settings has an Export Diagnostics button. It produces a redacted summary (connection state, discovered device names, playback state) with no credentials and no media titles. Attach it to an email describing what happened and which TV or player was involved.

Requisitos

A busca so funciona no Wi-Fi, e celular e TV precisam estar na mesma rede.

O servidor nao conecta

No aparece ningun televisor
